Privacy & data handling
The short version
You upload sensitive company documents so we can verify your compliance state. We treat them like evidence: encrypted, seen by as few people as possible, kept only as long as needed, and deleted when you ask. We never sell data. We never share it except as needed to produce your report.
What we collect
- Company documents you upload: trade licence, TRN certificate, memorandum of association, filing acknowledgments, and similar records.
- Company facts you enter: jurisdiction, activity, financial year end, contact details.
- Website usage: anonymous product analytics (pages viewed, buttons clicked) to improve the site. No document content is ever included in analytics.
Why we collect it
One purpose: producing your Compliance Truth Report and running the deadline watchdog you asked for. We map your obligations, grade them against the evidence you provide and permitted public registers, and alert you before deadlines. Nothing else.
How it's protected
- Encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).
- Access restricted to the reviewer working on your report, including the licensed UAE tax agent who spot-checks it.
- No document content in analytics, logs, or marketing material. Findings published publicly are always aggregated and anonymised.
How long we keep it
Twelve months from your report date, then deleted. If you ask sooner, we delete within 7 days and confirm in writing.
Your rights (UAE PDPL)
Under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, you can ask us at any time to:
- show you what data we hold about you and your company,
- correct it,
- delete it,
- or export it to you in a portable format.
Write to privacy@tryqanun.com and we act within 7 days.
Who we share with
- The reviewing tax agent, bound by confidentiality, to spot-check your report.
- Infrastructure providers (hosting, storage, payments) that process data on our behalf under their own security certifications.
- Nobody else. Not your provider, not marketers, not data brokers. If a lawful authority compels disclosure, we comply only with what the law requires and tell you unless legally barred.
What Qanun is not
Qanun is a technology platform, not a licensed tax or legal advisory. Penalty figures in our reports are maximum statutory amounts if unremedied, per the statutes cited in each line item.
